Consul General WANG Shuying and CIMC Vehicles Delegation Met with First Minister and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland

On 24 October 2016, Consul General WANG Shuying, together with General Manager of CIMC Vehicles LI Guiping, met with Northern Ireland First Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.

LI Guiping introduced the acquisition of Retlan Manufacturing Group of Northern Ireland by CIMC Vehicles and vision of its future development. WANG Shuying indicated that, the acquisition marked a good start for Chinese investment in Northern Ireland and believed, with the joint efforts of both sides, more pragmatic results would be achieved in China-NI economic and trade co-operations. Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness emphasized on the positive significance of the acquisition. They welcomed more Chinese companies to invest and develop in Northern Ireland, and promised that the NI Executive would be committed to providing proactive assistance and support in that regard.

Chief Executive of Invest NI Alastair Hamilton, and Managing Director of Retlan Manufacturing Group Mark Cuskeran also attended the meeting.
